Welcome to BettaJunkies. These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of BettaJunkies's Website, located at our primary domain. By accessing this website, we assume you accept these terms and conditions. Do not continue to use BettaJunkies if you do not agree to take all of the terms and conditions stated on this page.
1. Acceptance of Terms
The following terminology applies to these Terms and Conditions, Privacy Statement and Disclaimer Notice and all Agreements: 'Client', 'You' and 'Your' refers to you, the person log on this website and compliant to the Company’s terms and conditions. 'The Company', 'Ourselves', 'We', 'Our' and 'Us', refers to our Company.
2. Live Arrival Guarantee
UPS overnight shipping is preferred, especially between August and May when heatpacks are used.
UPS 2-Day Shipping live arrival guarantee only covers up value of fish. Shipping fees are non-refundable.
Live Arrival guarantee for UPS Overnight covers entire value (shipping non-refundable) credited toward a replacement.
In the event of a DOA, buyer must send a picture of fish in an unopened bag within an hour of delivery. BettaJunkies will check the time stamp on tracking. No exceptions.
Replacement for dead on arrival (DOA) will be credited towards your next purchase.
Shipping is non-refundable - Buyer is responsible for the shipping of any replacement fish.
Occasionally a fish may fall ill from the stress of shipping. If the fish shipped is acting off (more than just pale from stress) upon arrival, please let BettaJunkies know immediately. Once fish are added to your aquarium, BettaJunkies is not responsible for sudden deaths or illnesses. BettaJunkies only ships healthy fish; once they are in your system, their continued good health is your responsibility.
3. Shipping & Logistics
Orders are processed within 3-5 business days. Shipping rates are calculated based on region and climate requirements to ensure optimal transit conditions. We reserve the right to delay shipments during extreme weather events to protect the well-being of the livestock. BettaJunkies uses the WIX shipping manager which is managed by a third party insurance company and cannot go through UPS for shipping refunds. The third party company DOES NOT give refunds for delayed or mishandled packages for UPS Overnight for live animals. BettaJunkies has argued with the third party insurance agency that controls the refunds with no resolution. As such, there are no shipping refunds for delayed packages.
4. Use of Cookies
We employ the use of cookies. By accessing BettaJunkies, you agreed to use cookies in agreement with the BettaJunkies's Privacy Policy. Most interactive websites use cookies to let us retrieve the user's details for each visit. Cookies are used by our website to enable the functionality of certain areas to make it easier for people visiting our website.
5. Quarantine
Placeholder text for Quarantine procedures and requirements. All new arrivals should undergo a standard observation period to ensure optimal health before introduction to established systems.
6. Sororities
BettaJunkies does not quarantine behaviors in sorority settings. This includes sorority mystery boxes. Females are still prone to aggression and bickering is expected in any new environment until boundaries between fish are developed. This includes flaring, body slapping, and fin nipping.
7. Betta Care
It is the buyer's responsibility to research the proper care of bettas and provide a proper environment including heated and clean water.. BettaJunkies is not responsible for buyer's negligence. BettaJunkies are selectively bred and can be more sensitive then box stores fish that have somehow survived neglect and mistreatment. Please also be mindful of shocking your cycle when adding large numbers of fish such as bettas sororities to your setup and increase water changes as needed. Betta Junkies recommends Fritz Turbo Start refrigerated bacteria starter to quickly cycle or supplement the beneficial bacteria in your aquarium.
8. Holds
There are absolutely no holds. BettaJunkies is not a boarding facility. Please only purchase if you are adequately prepared for the fish and will be available to receive them.
9. Emails
All contact is done via email. It is the buyer's responsibility to to check emails for updates including the spam/junk folder, Please avoid using corporate accounts as more often then not, spam filters catch these emails. If you do not receive an order confirmation email, please contact Betta Junkies at BettaJunkies@gmail.com immediately to troubleshoot. No order conformation likely means you will also not get tracking info.
10. Local Pickup
Please email BettaJunkies@gmail.com to schedule a pickup. Appointments are available most evenings and weekend. Fish must be picked up within 1 week of ordering unless prior arrangements are made. Failure to pick up will result in the fish being relisted and you receiving store credit less 30% restocking fee.
11. Marbling
All fish are assumed to have the marble genes. Marble, Koi, Blacklight, Butterfly, etc are all variations of the marble genes. Marble coloration is subject to change and can do so quickly. Prism Bettas is not responsible for fish marbling after it has been photographed. However, BettaJunkies will try to attempt to contact you if the change is exceptional the day before shipping. The fish will be sent as is if there is no response prior to shipping.
12. Fin Chewing
Longfinned variety of bettas may chew their fins during transit. BettaJunkies is not responsible for any damage to fins occuring in transit. If fin chewing occurs prior to shipping, the buyer will be contacted with an option to receive the fish or pick out a replacement.
13. Quarantine
BettaJunkies only purchases from trustworthy breeders, but also treats all bettas for Hexamita, internal parasites, and bacterial infections for a short duration prior to listing. It is your responsibility to quarantine any fish from any source prior to adding them to your aquarium in the unlikely event the fish becomes ill in transit. It is also the buyer's responsibility to quarantine any fish, plants, or inverts from outside sources prior to adding them to your betta's aquarium.
